Performance

The standard engine on the 2023 Forte LX, LXS, and GT-Line models is a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder that delivers 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission to create impressive fuel economy numbers at up to 31 mpg in the city, 41 mpg on the highway, and 35 mpg combined.¹

For more exhilaration behind the wheel, consider the 2023 Forte GT or GT Manual models. Both come with a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine under the hood that generates a whopping 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. In the back, the sport-tuned dual exhaust shows that you mean business and reflects the sedan’s sporty vibe. 

The Forte GT’s engine works with a seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters to get up to 35 mpg on the highway.¹ Meanwhile, the Forte GT Manual focuses on your control behind the wheel with its six-speed manual transmission, which still gets a modest 31 mpg on the highway.¹

Exterior Design

Sharp lines are what help the 2023 Forte stand out among its competition. Not only that, but you can choose from an attractive palette of colors for the vehicle’s exterior. Depending on the trim you choose, you could paint your Forte in selections like Currant Red, Deep Sea Blue, Aurora Black, and more. But only the LXS and GT-Line models offer the exclusive Fire Orange color.

Wheel designs vary in size and style. The standard 15-inch steel wheels come with full covers, but you can find a collection of 16 to 18-inch alloy wheels across the 2023 Forte lineup. Wrapping the 18-inch alloy wheels on the GT Manual are Michelin® Pilot® Sport 4 summer tires for ultimate performance. The GT-Line, GT, and GT Manual models all come with a rear spoiler and Black Gloss side mirrors for added appeal.

In addition to being attractive, the exterior of the new Kia Forte is also functional. You’ll find a variety of useful features like standard projector beam headlights with High Beam Assist as well as available things like heated side view mirrors with LED turn signals, a sunroof, LED fog lights, and a Smart Trunk™ that automatically opens when your key fob is close by.

Interior Features

Inside, the 2023 Forte greets you with comfortable seating, plenty of convenient amenities, and ample cargo room. In fact, the Forte offers a best-in-class combined passenger and cargo volume of 111 cubic feet — more than competitors like the 2022 Mazda3, 2022 Nissan Sentra, and 2022 Toyota Corolla. 

If you want the coziest ride possible, opt for the Forte GT-Line and above. These models offer standard and available features like heated and ventilated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather shift knob, sport seats with SynTex trim, LED interior lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote start, rear A/C vents, and a 10-way power driver’s seat with lumbar adjustment.

Technology

When it comes to tech, you have plenty of options in the new Kia Forte. The 8-inch touch-screen display works seamlessly with standard amenities like Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, Bluetooth®, and the front USB data port. When you go for the Forte GT-Line and above, you’ll get a larger 10.25-inch touch-screen display that’s equipped with navigation, SiriusXM® satellite radio, and Kia Connect. These models also add a front USB charge port and more speakers for the audio system.

For the most advanced tech possible, the 2023 Forte GT and GT Manual models come with premium features like a wireless phone charger and a rear USB charging port. However, only the Forte GT Manual provides you with the crystal-clear sounds of a standard Harman Kardon® eight-speaker audio system.
