In case you missed it, the Telluride received a slight redesign last year, which included new wheel designs, an updated front grille, and three new exterior colors. The 2024 Telluride maintains its bold stance but receives standard amber daytime running lights across the lineup. Specific models like the Telluride X-Line and Telluride X-Pro will get Gloss Black accents, replacing last year’s Dark Metallic.

Additional exterior elements that you’ll find on the new Telluride include roof rails available in Silver, Satin Chrome, or Gloss Black; a Smart Power Tailgate with Auto Close; and 18- to 20-inch wheels in a variety of finishes.

Features

The new Kia Telluride is filled to the brim with desirable features that you and your whole family will love. To start, standard Remote Start makes it easy to get the cabin ready for any climate so you can get on the go quickly. Capability

The Telluride’s V6 engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission to get up to 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway on front-wheel drive (FWD) models.1 When equipped with all-wheel drive (with a center-locking differential and Snow Mode), fuel efficiency drops just slightly to 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.1

Every new Telluride, however, comes with a helpful Drive Mode Select system that lets you choose between Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Smart modes.

What’s new?

For 2023, the Telluride offers two new rugged trims: X-Line and X-Pro. These adventurous models offer increased capability via improved ground clearance, more towing capacity, raised roof rails, all-terrain tires, and Downhill Brake Control.

Other new features include a revised exterior design as well as a refreshed interior with more smart technology. The larger multi-color head-up display is now 10 inches (up from 8.5) and showcases vital vehicle information while you drive. Connectivity is upgraded with the optional digital key that supports certain Apple and Samsung smartphones and smartwatches.

Exterior

On the outside, the 2023 Telluride arrives with a handful of updates. In the front, you’ll find a new bumper and grille with a revised vertical headlamps design (standard LED). Available fog lamps add more utility in unsavory weather. As you move to the rear of the SUV, you’ll find an updated lower door garnish trim, side sills, and new wheel designs on every trim. The Telluride is also available in a few new colors: Jungle Wood Green, Dawning Red, and Midnight Lake Blue. The new X-Line and X-Pro trims have unique design elements like a radiator grille, exclusive 18- or 20-inch wheels, and special badging.

Performance

With its 3.8-liter V6 engine, the new Kia Telluride is exceptionally powerful. This powertrain delivers a hearty 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. That equates to a maximum standard towing rating of up to 5,000 pounds (and 5,500 pounds with the X-Pro trim). You’ll be prepared for all kinds of roads thanks to the four drive modes: Smart, Eco, Sport, and Comfort. 


You can opt for even more capability with features like the available self-leveling rear suspension that calibrates ride height to ensure a smooth ride. There’s also the available active on-demand all-wheel drive system that will send power to the front and rear wheels, depending on road conditions and driver input. This system adds the Snow and AWD Lock drive modes.

Interior

As the largest vehicle in the Kia lineup, the Telluride offers outstanding cargo room and passenger space. You’ll have enough room for up to eight with the standard bench configuration or up to seven with the available second-row captain’s chairs. When you’ve got all of the rear seats folded down, you’ll have up to 87 cubic feet of space to utilize.


Comfort is also key in the 2023 Telluride’s interior. Standard features include remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear passenger automatic climate control, and SynTex seat trim.
