If you want a mid-size sport sedan that goes big on style, performance, and technology, you should check out the new Kia K5. With incredible updates inside and out, this exciting car has a lot to offer and starts at just $26,990.[1]
The 2025 Kia K5 is available in five trims: LXS FWD, GT-Line FWD, GT-Line AWD, GT, and EX.
For the 2025 model year, Kia has replaced the previous 1.6-liter turbo engine with a new 2.5-liter normally aspirated four-cylinder engine that gets 11 more horsepower (191 hp) and 181 lb-ft of torque. That engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission to help you achieve up to 26 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.[2]
If you want even more power, consider getting behind the wheel of the Kia K5 GT. This sporty trim has a turbocharged version of that 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Power output increases to an exhilarating 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque while still being quite efficient.
To better align with the “Opposites United” Kia design philosophy, the 2025 K5 has been upgraded with various aesthetic enhancements. The most noticeable difference is in the front with the standard Star Map LED front Daytime Running Lights. There’s also a new front fascia and a darker lower air intake opening for an added touch of athleticism.
The K5 GT-Line and GT models offer exclusive exterior design elements like 18- and 19-inch gloss black and machined finish wheels, gloss black side mirrors, and a quad-tip dual exhaust (GT only). Sporty features like an integrated spoiler and illuminated door handles can be found on all K5 models.
The interior of the K5 shows off exciting updates, too! The cabin has a new instrument panel with revised HVAC and audio access. These are flanked by easily accessible tactile knobs rather than relying solely on touchscreens for everything like some brands do. The center console has also been updated with larger cup holders.
The stylish and spacious interior is available in an array of colorways depending on trim, including Black cloth, Black and White SynTex, Red SynTex, and Black SynTex with Neon Green stitching for the GT model. Throughout the lineup, you’ll find premium amenities like remote start, a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade.
When it comes to technology, Kia has you covered with outstanding connectivity on the go. The new available single-panel curved display houses a 12.3-inch instrument display screen and a 12.3-inch touchscreen navigation unit for almost 25 inches of screen space. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are standard on every model, adding convenience to your daily drives.
On all trims except the base LXS FWD, you can upgrade your music experience with an available 12-speaker Bose® premium audio system. There’s also the available Active Sound Design feature that supplements sporty driving dynamics with audio effects to match your drive mode. When you need to power up devices, you can go with the standard USB-C charging ports in the front and back or the available wireless charging pad (which is standard on the GT-Line FWD and higher).
The K5 was already well-equipped with smart safety systems. But for 2025, Kia has implemented a few new standard Advanced Driving Assist Systems (ADAS):
• Park Distance Warning – Forward
• Park Distance Warning – Reverse
• Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go
• Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with junction turning and cyclist detection
Higher trims, starting at the K5 EX, get even more standard safety features:
• Park Distance Warning – Side
• Highway Driving Assist
• Blind View Monitor
• Surround View Monitor
• Parking Collision Avoidance Assist – Reverse
• Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control
All of these amazing safety features are, of course, added to existing standard systems like Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Rear Occupant Alert, and Safe Exit Assist.
