Standard safety features of the 2019 Kia Optima
The Kia Optima comes with a ton of safety tech standard. First off, you have an array of airbags all designed to protect you should the worst happen. These airbags including dual front airbags, dual front seat-mounted airbags, a driver’s side knee airbag, and dual full-length side curtain airbags.

On the base Optima LX trim and above you get a lane departure warning system, lane-keeping assist, a driver attention warning system, forward collision warning, forward collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, a park distance warning system, and a blind spot collision warning system.
Available driver-assist features on the 2019 Kia Optima
It’s amazing what comes standard on the 2019 Optima, but there are a few more driver-assist and safety features that come at higher trims. If you opt for the EX or the SX trim above it then your forward collision avoidance system adds pedestrian detection and you also get a smart cruise control system.
The only major safety feature is only available on the top SX trim, and it doesn’t come standard. You will have to opt for it with the SX Limited package. The feature is called the surround-view monitor system, and it gives you a full 360-degree view of your surroundings when you are maneuvering.
