If you’re thinking about how you can save some time this year in your thanksgiving preparations, we’ve got some great tips for you! These tips are perfect for saving yourself a bit of time and headaches while you’re getting ready for the holidays this year, letting you prepare early. Continue reading below to see what tips we recommend you employ!
1. Make Your Schedule Now
It’s good to have a plan for how you want your Thanksgiving Day to go. This includes what meals come out when – you don’t want hot food to come out too early and spend all day getting cold – and what activities you’ll have to keep guests entertained. This can be card games, board games, movies, etc, whatever helps keep the day lighthearted and fun!
2. Start Thawing the Turkey Early
If your turkey is frozen, you might want to start thawing it earlier than you’d expect. A completely frozen turkey needs a day to thaw for every four pounds of weight, making thawing a job you need to start earlier! Also, if you need to brine your turkey, you’ll need an extra day, so keep that in mind.
3. Consider Pre-Making Foods
Gravy, cranberry sauce, potatoes, dinner rolls, etc, all these things are often eaten on thanksgiving, and preparing them on the day can be difficult. Consider making one or more of these items earlier and placing them in the fridge to warm later – it might not be fresh, but I’ll still be tasty, and you’ll save yourself a headache.
