If you love everything about the 2025 Kia Sorento but want to upgrade your efficiency, you have two options: the Kia Sorento Hybrid and the Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid. These two SUVs offer outstanding performance along with plenty of other desirable features.
Both trims of the 2025 Sorento Hybrid are powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and full parallel hybrid system. This setup gets 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, you can expect to reach up to 36 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.[1]
The Kia Sorento Hybrid’s interior has room for up to six people, with two seats in each of its three rows. When all of the rear seats are folded down, the Sorento HEV has 75.5 cubic feet of total space of cargo room available.
Premium features like a 10-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, remote start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel are all standard. Choose the SX Prestige to get leather seats, a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade, ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and a heated steering wheel.
To help you stay connected, the 2025 Sorento HEV is outfitted with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with navigation. The infotainment system works seamlessly thanks to over-the-air updates. Additional standard tech includes wireless smartphone connectivity, Kia Connect, a wireless phone charger, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and six USB-C charging ports.
The Sorento Hybrid is also filled with intelligent safety systems like Blind-Spot Collision Warning-Parallel Exit, Park Distance Warning (Front and Rear), and Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go-Curve.
The 2025 Sorento Plug-In Hybrid also has two trims available, and both are equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo engine and a full parallel hybrid system. This model is more powerful, getting 261 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. You can expect to get up to 74 MPGe combined or 33 mpg with the gas engine only.[1] You’ll also have up to 30 miles of all-electric range to help you get to the pump when you’re running low on gas.[2]
Similar to the hybrid version, the 2025 Sorento Plug-In Hybrid is packed with premium amenities. The SX Prestige AWD trim comes with a luxurious 14-way power driver’s seat with four-way power lumbar adjustment and two-way power thigh extension. This model also features a 10-way power front passenger seat, ventilated front seats, a driver’s seat integrated memory system, integrated second-row window sunshades, and genuine leather seats that are perforated and embossed.
The Sorento PHEV offers the same amount of space in the back as the Sorento HEV, with up to 75.5 cubic feet available with the rear seats folded down. You’ll also find a dual level cargo floor that has a hidden cargo area when you lift the hatch.
The new Kia Sorento PHEV has a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen display with navigation and the option to upgrade the instrument display to a 12.3-inch curved display. The top SX Prestige AWD trim goes all out with a 12-speaker Bose® premium audio system and it adds convenience with a 115-volt power inverter outlet in the cargo area.
Safety is a top priority in any Kia vehicle, and the 2025 Sorento Plug-In Hybrid is no exception. This SUV has a long list of standard driver-assist technologies at the ready. Beyond the standard systems, the SX Prestige AWD model offers even more with things like a Blind-Spot View Monitor, a Surround View Monitor, Highway Driving Assist 2, and Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go-Curve and Machine Learning.
